Auto Renewal
Information about the auto-renewal process
You do not have to have a PayPal account to pay for the annual renewal, which is $49. To pay $39 for renewal with using the PayPal auto-renewal system, you will have to have a PayPal account. LTI encourages everyone to use the PayPal auto-renewal system in place with PayPal. It saves you money and it saves us from sending out reminders.
If you pay $39 for your renewal with your credit card by going through your PayPal account, you will be initiating automatic payments for $39 that will happen automatically each year on the same date and without notice before it happens. If you get billed next year through PayPal and then change your mind about renewing your certification, you can go into your PayPal account and cancel the automatic payments. If we have to go into our PayPal to cancel the automatic charge, there will be a fee of $39.
If you were charged the $39 through the automatic payment system and then want a refund, you would have needed to have canceled the automatic payment in advance. We will not refund the $39 because it covers the fee for us to issue the refund and to correct our records. If you do not want to be billed again for renewal automatically, please go into your PayPal account to cancel it. If you initiated the automatic renewal system and want to cancel it, you can do so with the instructions below. (Information below is from PayPal web site.)

Here is how to cancel an automatic payment with a merchant

When you send money for preapproved payments such as a recurring payment, subscription, automatic billing, or installment plan, the money is first taken from your PayPal balance.
Here’s how to change the way you pay for preapproved payments if you don’t want to use your PayPal balance:

Preapproved payments
You can agree with a seller who accepts PayPal to use PayPal as the payment method for future purchases with that seller. This agreement is between you and the seller and allows the seller to take funds from your PayPal account with your authorization either on a one-time, regular or sporadic basis. Preapproved payments of this type are sometimes called a “billing agreement,” "subscription," "recurring payment,” “reference transaction,” "preauthorized transfer" or "automatic payment."
You may cancel a preapproved payment up to 3 Business Days before the date of the next scheduled payment by contacting us through your PayPal account profile or by calling PayPal at (888) 221-1161. Once you contact PayPal to cancel a preapproved payment, all future preapproved payments under your agreement with that seller will be stopped. If you cancel a preapproved payment, you may still owe the seller money for the purchase or have additional obligations to the seller for any goods or services that you receive but have not paid for.
